The Florence program strives to turn students into academic travelers. Unlike passing tourists, Stanford students will leave the city with a mastery of one of the cultures at the core of the historical and artistic development of the Western world, and a deep fluency in Italy, the European Union, and the Mediterranean today.
"I loved the art history lectures, as we were able to discuss artworks in class and then go see them as a group and on our own in and around Florence. That felt truly unique to the study abroad experience and I was grateful to be able to do it."
