Extensions and Withdrawals
All BOSP participants are subject to and will be held accountable for the policies in this section. Please review them carefully.
Extend Your Stay on a Quarter Length Program
BOSP offers exciting opportunities to extend your stay in a program overseas to a second or third quarter depending on the program and quarter! Any extension requested prior to the first application round for the quarter the extension takes place in will be given priority. Any extension request after this cannot be guaranteed.
To request an extension, log in to the BOSP Application System, go to the steps associated with your application, and click the Extension Request button to submit your Extension Request.
Withdraw from a Program
In the unfortunate event that you must withdraw from the program, log in to the BOSP Application System, go to the steps associated with your application, and click the Withdraw button to submit your withdrawal notification.
The BOSP Participation Agreement outlines the terms and conditions of your change of program enrollment status and the withdrawal policy. It is important that you read this information carefully and consider that withdrawing from the program may have financial consequences. Students on a waitlist may remain on the waitlist indefinitely or withdraw if they wish with no financial penalties.
The BOSP withdrawal dates and penalties for programs, as specified in the Participation Agreement, are summarized below for your quick reference:
Autumn Quarter Programs

BOSP Internship Programs: Krupp (Germany) and Kyoto
Students notifying the Krupp or Kyoto Internship Program Coordinator of their withdrawal after their formal application but prior to formal placement (for any reason), will be charged a fee of $200. Students withdrawing after formal placement, as determined by the Krupp or Kyoto Internship Coordinator, will be charged a fee of $400.
PLEASE NOTE: These deadlines are based on the academic calendar of the home campus. Stanford University's regular tuition refund policy applies in all cases.
